Spring Break cont'd

Last year we bought this bike for Zoe so that when we go on rides she can keep up. Well Penni decided to go up a hill and then go down real fast. On the way down Zoe was heard saying "Now that is more like it".

Spring Break

March 16, 2007

This week has been Spring Break and I decided to take Thursday and Friday and spend it with the girls. Thursday, we (Penni) decided that we were going to go on a bike ride around Tempe Town Lake. We got some chicken and Penni made some potato salad and we had a picnic. The girls and I all got new bikes for Christmas so we have been on lots of bike rides and the girls seem to really enjoy it and today was a beautiful day.


After biking we stopped by and got some frozen yogurt. Then I had the bright idea to camp in the back yard. So after a juick trip to Costco we had a new tent and some cedar planks to grill some salmon. We ended up cooking hot dogs and having smoore’s. I had forgotten how much work that was and how long a night in a tent can be. During dinner our neighbor called and needed me to get a bug out of her house, so I was able to work in some service.

This is my try at blogging, we will see how long it lasts. This week was a pretty good. Penni and I attended a bbq class on Saturday that the Relief Society put together. I had to pull some strings to get in because of all the old people who wanted to attend but we made it happen. It was BYOM so the big decision was what type of meat to take. Then I also had to decide on a marinade. Decisions decisions. Of course, Penni could care less she just doesn't want anything "funky". So I decided on a flank steak and a marinade that looked good and I took chicken as a back up. Of course everyone else brought chicken and new york steak.

It was a good class I got some ideas. The flank steak and chicken both turned out great. The Relief Society President hosted the bbq class and she has a really nice house. They have fake grass that looked pretty good. Penni wants me to check and see how much it is to put in our house because she is tired of our lawn looking bad. But that is what happens when you work five days a week and go to school on the sixth.
