Jodi's Birthday Surprise

Thursday night travel on an airplane in a rainstorm, drive from airport to house, rain, rain, rain, ringing doorbell, door opens, SHOCKED sister, singing Happy Birthday, SHOCKED sister, mom and I giggling that our surprise was complete - SHOCKED sister!

SO PRICELESS and SO WORTH IT!

Mom and I made plans to surprise Jodi for her birthday by showing up without her knowing.

She was so surprised - it was so worth flying in a rainstorm and most of you know my airplane/flying issues. We were hoping we could help start a new year off with something fun for her after the year she had.

We had a great time - shopping in the rain, visiting the Alamo, eating and boating down by the Riverwalk. We had a great time and it was good to see the Palumbos. Love you Jo.

X Country

Kristine is participating on the junior high cross country team this year.

She LOVES it!! (I wish)

I kind of used the mother trump card telling her that if she wanted to play softball in the spring she needed to participate in cross country. She has made several friends and she gets to wear her team jersey on meet days. It's been good for her to participate on a team sport at school. This hasn't been easy though - all that conditioning and practicing. She has improved her time with every meet. They usually run against a couple of schools and they run 1.5 miles.

We are really proud of her.

Who says men can't multitask??

Every year we have to reseed the grass to have a green lawn during the winter time. Todd came home from work and this was how I found him - MULTI TASKING. I thought it was a funny picture of him. He was on his phone the whole time he was working on the yard.
