Kayaking at La Jolla Beach

We spent alot of time at the beach - that's what we went for. The Jones family who came with us told us about this beach and wanted to take us there. I have been wanting to go kayaking for a while now and found out about some kayak tours. Kristine and I went and I loved it. I wasn't too sure about how I would do paddling in the ocean but I did all right and it was a perfect day. We went with a group of about 25 people of all ages. I would definitely do it again!!

Had to keep the camera covered with saran wrap so this was the only picture I got of both of us on the kayak.

We kayaked out to some caves that you can only get to by swimming out there or kayaking out to so here we are waiting our turn to kayak into the cave.

Not the best picture but there were several sea lions out along the rocks, one came out and swam with our group and would poke its head up and look around. They seem like very playful animals. We also saw really large orange fish and and school of leopard sharks. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this but they swam at the bottom of the ocean bed and didn't come up at you. It was pretty cool to see. Next time the whole family is going for sure!!

Back to school Photos

So I am a lot behind on the posting as my mother has reminded me several times. No matter how much I try to simplify, life keeps adding more to my plate. It doesn't help when pictures are on a camera that we couldn't find for awhile either.

So here are the girls in their 2010 back to school pictures. (Taken in August)

Zoe is heading to a new school this year and will be taking the bus which she is excited about because she has always carpooled to school. She is in 4th grade this year and her teacher is Mrs. Karr.

Kristines "new style" of blinged out jeans, black pretty top and a big pink "cute" bag.

She's ready for 8th grade!

Nichole is starting school at 6:30 AM which means she leaves the house at 6:00 AM which means we're up at 5:00 AM. This super early morning thing has not been an easy transition. No longer feeling nervous as she is now a sophmore and is no longer the lowest on the high school totem pole.

Back to the routine of schools days and not hearing how bored everyone is. - I think I agree with my sister that it really can be the "best time of the year!"

YW pictures

The girls had a YW activity where they had their pictures taken. They had beeen talking about inner and outer beauty. One of their leaders took the pictures and they turned out cute.
